Well done to all the winners!
This is exactly how I felt when I stumbled upon these earrings on Truffle Shuffle.
I’m not even a cat person and I find them adorable!
I just think they would be so fun to wear and would make an outfit. If I was to style them then I would team them just with a black top and skirt so they stood out. Plus, when you have quirky accessories, it’s better to keep the rest of your outfit simple, otherwise you sometimes end up looking a little too kitschy.
Anyways, they are a rather reasonable price of £11.99 if you want to purchase them. As I said, they are great for yourself, however, if one of your friends and family love cats, they it may be the perfect Christmas present too!

With the wind howling and it getting darker and darker in the mornings, it’s pretty clear that winter is now well and truly here in Blightly.
I’m pretty sure you’re all getting out your woolly knits, scarves, coats and hats now, however, as well as changing your wardrobe, it is also important that your adapt your skincare to the seasons too.
Check out my five tips to get keep your skin smooth and supple throughout the winter period.
1. Go for a more heavy-duty moisturiser
With the strong winds and cold temperatures, it is really easy for your skin to dry out in the winter season. This is why it is important that you ensure your skin is moisturised thoroughly so it doesn’t become sore and flaky. Unlike summer, when you will want a light moisturiser to reduce grease, you will want a much more nourishing product. I recommend No7 Protect & Perfect Intense Day Cream for your face, which has been designed to maintain elasticity and protect your skin from the environment. For the body, I love the Sanctuary Spa Body Butter, which is packed with cocoa butter and creamy shea butter.
2. Still keep up the SPF
Although you may think it’s time to put away the sunscreen, it’s actually important to keep up your SPF coverage in the winter. This is because your skin can still be damaged from UV rays, even though it may not be sunbathing weather. Try and go for a foundation that has SPF care in it such as Clarins Extra Comfort Foundation SPF15 or go for a BB cream like Garnier Skin Perfector BB Cream which already has it built in. If you prefer to go make-up free or you are using a foundation that doesn’t have SPF, then it may be an idea to invest in Piz Buin Ultra Light Dry Face Fluid SPF15, which gives you that protection. The product also dries straight away, so your face won’t be left greasy.
3. Invest in a good lip balm
Again, with the temperature dropping it is easy for the lips to become dry and chapped if you don’t invest in a good lip balm. I recommend Carmex Moisturizing Vanilla Lip Balm SPF 15. This helps leave you lips supple and the vanilla flavour is delish’. The SPF also gives you extra protection from UV rays.
4. Go for a festive face pack
As I said above, it’s important to step up your moisturisation in the winter. This is especially true for you face as this is the area that will be most exposed to the weather. To make sure you are as supple as can be, why not invest in a moisturising face mask, such as Superfacialist Rose Intense Moisture Mask, or if you’re even more serious, go for Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask.
5. Don’t forget your hands
As well as your face, your hands can get very dry and chapped if they aren’t looked after properly during the winter season, so much so that they may even crack and bleed if you’re not careful. To avoid this, try Soap & Glory’s Hand Food Hand Cream Pump. You could also invest in the brand’s miniature version of the cream to keep in your handbag.
So there you have it – your guide to the perfect supple winter skin!
October is the official month of Breast Cancer Awareness. This is a cause that is very close to my heart as many women in my family have suffered with the disease.
That’s why I’ve decided to write this post to recommend how you can easily help raise awareness and funds for this worthy cause just by visiting the high street. Check out the products to look for below & remember that you can also raise awareness by having a ‘Pink Friday’ event at work, school or at home or even entering the Breast Cancer Care WomenOnly Run this Saturday (Oct 18).
This is basically for any guy who is about to meet their girlfriend’s parents for the first time. The post was inspired by the fact that my sister Kerri has just got a new boyfriend and he is meeting our parents for the first time this weekend.
She was telling me that he’s a bit worried about what to wear, so I thought I’d write this post for him and any other guys out there who might be worrying about meeting their partner’s ‘rents.
So hello boys if you are reading the blog for the first time and girls, if you have a new man in your life who hasn’t met your parents yet, why not suggest a read of my suggestions below.
Hope you enjoy!
The main thing you will want to ensure is that you look smart. This doesn’t mean you have to wear a three-piece suit, but it does mean that what you do wear should be clean, washed and ironed. After all, no mother wants to see their daughter with a man who can’t even be bothered to wear a clean top! Items you may want to stay clear of on a first meeting with the in-laws however include ripped jeans, band tops and joke t-shirts, as they can be distracting.
Dress for the occasion
It is important to look smart, however remember that it is crucial that you dress for the occasion. If you are visiting the home of your in-laws, then it is fine to wear trousers, however if you are going on a family picnic, don’t be afraid to wear shorts and (clean) trainers. Dressing too smart for an outdoor activity may leave you looking a little silly.
Stay away from bold colours or patterns
You may think that your bright orange stripy t-shirt signals that you are fun, however it’s probably not the most sensible thing to wear on your first meeting with your partner’s parents. Muted colours such as white, black and navy blue are much safer and will ensure that your girlfriend’s family will concentrate on your personality, rather than be distracted by your dress sense.
Wear the right shoes!
As every mother knows, there is nothing worse than a man in bad shoes. You may not think that the in-laws will notice what’s on your feet, but they certainly will. This means that all shoes should be cleaned and polished if possible. You will also want to make sure that they work well with the outfit that you are wearing. For example, don’t wear trainers with suit trousers and certainly don’t even entertain the idea of socks and sandals – you may never be asked over again!
Don’t forget your personal hygiene
As well as concentrating on the clothes that you wear, it is important that you also make sure your appearance is up-to-scratch too. For example, make sure you wash and comb your hair, have clean fingernails and have brushed your teeth. Parents are far more likely to think that you will be able to look after their daughter if you look after your own appearance too.
It all started when I got a new pair of Nike trainers for the gym. At the same time, I also bought a sports luxe blazer that I happened to stumble on in Primark too. Those two combined started this dangerous new fixation with all these sports.
For the first time ever, instead of Topshop and Asos, I was scanning the online stores of Nike and Adidas religiously and I still am a few weeks on!
Today I bought some Nike Air Force 1’s from Schuh (see right) as well as some hi tops off Ebay, however it hasn’t stopped my craving. As soon as I got home I went on the Adidas website, adding about five pairs of shoes to my ‘shopping cart’ as well as some cute jackets. I just can’t stop myself!
Luckily, I didn’t actually purchase these latter items that I put in my bag, otherwise I really would be broke. Instead I decided to write this blogpost to share my new found sporty favourites with you and lust in them online, rather than raid my purse again.
At least buying sports items are practical I guess, especially as this time of year as trainers are always good for festivals and outdoor stuff, as are jackets when it gets cold in the evening.
Anyway, check out my favourite must-have sports items below and know that if you buy any I will be immensely jealous!
